Talita Setyadi is a renowned pastry chef, owner of BEAU in Jakarta and Brand Ambassador for Les vergers Boiron.
Her singular career path and commitment to quality and innovation have positioned her as an influential figure in contemporary patisserie.
Born in Jakarta in 1991, Talita Setyadi moved to New Zealand at the age of 9.
A jazz enthusiast, she obtained a music diploma.
Her culinary adventure began as she baked cupcakes and muffins for practice with her jazz band, The Teacup.
After some positive feedback, she decided to pursue a career in pastry making.
Talita Setyadi moved to Paris, where she sold her macaroons and cakes at weekend markets and studied at the prestigious Le Cordon Bleu school.
She then went on to study baking and management in New York, graduating with an MBA.
Back in Jakarta, Talita Setyadi first started supplying bomboloni to a few cafés.
In 2014, she opened BEAU, a benchmark café-bakery in the chic Jalan Cikajang district.
BEAU quickly became a landmark, known for its bright, lush ambience.
Talita has created over 100 types of organic breads, pastries, cakes, cookies and éclairs, supplying more than 80 cafés, restaurants and hotels in Jakarta.
She is affectionately known as “Jakarta’s Pastry Queen” for her commitment to natural ingredients without preservatives or artificial coloring.
Talita actively promotes artisanal and organic products, catering to the growing interest of millennials in natural, quality products.
BEAU also offers vegetarian and gluten-free pastries, a testament to Talita’s commitment to dietary diversity and health.
Talita Setyadi draws inspiration from her musical background and jazz improvisation, creating distinctive pastries featuring Indonesian flavors and ingredients.
Some of her signature creations include the “Jajanan”, a pastry combining cendol and nagasari with jackfruit, the “Real Legit”, a variation on the traditional Lapis Legit, and the “Black Out Eclair” featuring “Kecap Manis” caramel.
In January 2017, Talita captained the first Indonesian team to qualify for the Pastry World Cup in Lyon.
Her success has earned her a place in Forbes’ 2018 list of 30 Entrepreneurs Under 30, and Ernst & Young’s Woman Entrepreneur of the Year award.
She is also a lecturer and coach in women’s entrepreneurship.
