Our purpose
We strive for fruit and gastronomy that connect and care for the living.
This purpose is shared by everyone in the company.
It is a purpose that positions Les vergers Boiron favorably in the field of gastronomy and expresses the company’s ambition. Because fruit is our core business, it is essential for us to support those who work every day to protect our common good.

“This mission is like a compass that guides each of our decisions. Together we will continue to write this beautiful story and to share our values.”
Alain Boiron, CEO

Les vergers Boiron,
« Société à mission (mission-driven company) »
In 2024, we decided to make our purpose part of our bylaws and to become a “Société à mission” (mission-driven company). This might only be the beginning of the adventure, but what could be more encouraging than to feel we are contributing to a meaningful activity?

“Becoming a Société à mission (mission-driven company) means engaging the company’s development with a full awareness of the challenges that tie us to the agricultural world and, in a broader sense, all forms of life. Those are not just words. Embedding that responsibility in our bylaws represents a commitment for us, and all the actors in our ecosystem that we seek to rally around our mission: to co-create sincere, ambitious roadmaps that translate our intentions into actions.”
Christine Sarzier, Supply Chain and Sustainable Commitment Director
What does it mean to become a “Société à mission” (mission-driven company)?
A purpose embedded in the bylaws of Les vergers Boiron
The mission consists of a purpose and statutory objectives that address our social and environmental challenges. We have determined four of these that represent the essential drivers for achievement :
- To co-construct sustainable fruit chains that take care of people and nature
- To act for climate and environment throughout our entire value chain
- To develop and support a sensorial, natural, responsible range of products
- To mobilize and inspire an ecosystem that allows everyone to pursue fulfillment and grow with confidence
In order to accomplish our mission, each pillar is translated into an operational objective and is quantified with tracking indicators.
A committee rallied around a common mission
The mission committee is dedicated to following up on the advancement of the mission. It is made up of interested parties both internal and external (providers, researchers, industrials, clients, partners, and so on) who meet two to three times annually and make a yearly mission report. This committee is a true driver of our commitment on a daily basis. It is free to unhesitatingly challenge us on the orientation and coherency of our objectives, always demonstrating goodwill and pertinence.
An ITPO to check the execution of our objectives
An Independent Third-Party Organization (ITPO) verifies the execution of the social and environmental objectives. The first audit is held 18 months after the change of the bylaws, and follow-ups are made every 24 months. The notice is posted on the company website. In the event of non-compliance with the above provisions, or if the ITPO concludes that the objectives are not being met, the status of “Société à mission” (mission-driven company) may be revoked.
