Head Pastry Chef and Chocolatier, Le Noir - Atelier du chocolat
Pierre Abi Hayla is a pastry chef and chocolate enthusiast, co-founder of Le Noir – Atelier du Chocolat in Beirut, where he has quickly become a leading figure for chocolate lovers in Lebanon.
His journey, worthy of a Hollywood screenplay, began with a rather unacademic childhood, where he was described as a “difficult” child.
The son of a Lebanese father and an Armenian mother, Pierre found his passion for pastry making after exploring many other fields.
After graduating, he worked in renowned establishments such as Fadel, Nazira, Al Bustan, and Hotel Bellevue.
At 21, he joined the Intercontinental Le Vendôme in Ain Mreisseh, where he was put in charge of the restaurant, room service and the Chocodôme chocolate boutique.
This position gave him the opportunity to meet renowned chefs and broaden his culinary horizons.
Pierre continued his training in France, taking courses at the École du Grand Chocolat, the École Nationale Supérieure de la Pâtisserie, and at Lenôtre Paris.
In 2016, he won the First Prize in the Easter competition organized by Valrhona, a major turning point in his career.
In 2017, with his brother, he opened Le Noir – Atelier du Chocolat, which soon became a hit among gourmets and industry professionals, supplying products to hotels, restaurants and caterers.
Pierre Abi Hayla is the co-founder and Head Pastry Chef of Le Noir – Atelier du Chocolat in Beirut, where he creates premium chocolates.
He is also working on expanding his brand in the Gulf States and the Middle East.
His philosophy is simple: create masterpieces using modern techniques to produce chocolates of exceptional quality.
Influenced by prestigious mentors such as Patrick Roger, Pierre Marcolini, and three-star chef Alain Ducasse, Pierre Abi Hayla aspires to expand his chocolate empire by opening boutiques in the Gulf States and across the Middle East.
Thanks to his passion, expertise and vision, he continues to raise the profile of the art of chocolate in Lebanon and beyond.
