Based in Seattle, Jonathan Stanyard develops an approach to cocktail that is both technical and sensitive. With more than twenty years of experience, he stands out for his attention to detail, his respect for ingredients and his ability to transform raw products into complex and balanced creations.
Jonathan Stanyard has built his reputation on solid expertise and mastered creativity. In 2019, he founded The bitter Gringo Co., a structure dedicated to creating recipes, consulting and transmitting know-how in the world of cocktails. He was rewarded in 2022 with the first place in the Battle for the Boiron Cup during the Seattle Cocktail Week, before being crowned World Class US Bartender of the Year in 2024, marking his influence and recognition nationally and internationally.
Today, Jonathan continues his mission to push the boundaries of contemporary mixology, while promoting a responsible practice that respects ingredients. He continues to create innovative cocktails, share his expertise and pass on his knowledge to new generations of bartenders.
For Jonathan, each cocktail is a precise and expressive composition, where each ingredient has a role and where the technique serves emotion and balance. He makes a point of honor to respect the products and seasons, while exploring new approaches to enrich contemporary mixology.
