In sun-drenched Andalusia, close to the Strait of Gibraltar, you’ll find Los Alcornocales Natural Park. It’s here, in the southern Spain, that Les vergers Boiron sources its Nagami kumquats. These small, oval-shaped citrus fruits are grown in a certified organic family plantation that specializes in kumquats.

This organic farming method guarantees a pesticide-free harvest, a key requirement for Les vergers Boiron, as we use whole fruits with their peels, which are known for their powerful fragrance.

Along with a particularly favorable Mediterranean climate, these citrus trees benefit from drip irrigation and the natural protection offered by cypress hedges against the Atlantic winds.

They are harvested by hand between February and April, when their peel becomes soft and turns a beautiful bright orange color, a sign of peak ripeness.

The kumquat puree from Les vergers Boiron stands out for its thick, grainy texture, thanks to the presence of noticeable specks of rind, which add consistency in applications. This innovative product offers a new approach that sets it apart from conventional citrus juices.

Besides its beautiful orange color, it has a high aromatic intensity, with a subtle balance between sweetness and bitterness. 

On the palate, this fruit puree reveals notes of zest and other citrus fruits such as orange and grapefruit.
