Under the sun of Andalusia, in the “Los Alcornocales” natural park located on the Strait of Gibraltar (a mountainous area in the south of Spain), Les vergers Boiron sources Nagami variety kumquats.

These small oval citrus fruits thrive in a family-run kumquat plantation certified organic. This ensures a harvest free from pesticide residues, a crucial guarantee as Les vergers Boiron processes the whole fruit, including its peel, which is known for its powerful fragrance.

In addition to the Mediterranean climate particularly suited to their cultivation, the fruits benefit from drip irrigation and natural protection from strong Atlantic winds provided by cypress hedges. They are hand-harvested between January and April, when their peel becomes soft and reveals a naturally vibrant orange color.

This puree reveals a strong aromatic intensity with a perfect balance of sweetness and bitterness. Zesty notes are distinguished, along with hints of other citrus fruits such as orange and pink grapefruit.

The Kumquat puree from Les vergers Boiron is characterized by an orange color, with visible peel markings that add authenticity in application.

In order to maintain all the sensory qualities of our product, Les vergers Boiron recommend to defrost the product in its original closed packaging, at 35/+39°F. To unmold or cut your frozen purée easily, we recommend one of the following methods: remove the lid, do not remove the protective seal and leave the tray at room temperature for 5 minutes; or leave the lid and protective seal on, run the tray under lukewarm water for 30 seconds at least before removing the lid and protective seal. Defrosting and storage after defrosting are the user’s responsibility and must be done in accordance with good hygiene and HACCP practices.
